Egypt's President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi discussed bilateral ties with US President Donald Trump at a meeting on the sidelines of the G7 summit in France's Biarritz on Monday (August 26th), Ahram Online reported.
Trump said al-Sisi's efforts were important for the stability of the Middle East.
"Egypt presented already a great performance under the commandership of President al-Sisi," Trump said.
In addition to boosting bilateral ties, the two leaders discussed developments on the war on terrorism. Trump praised al-Sisi's efforts to promote the principles of religious tolerance and freedom of worship in Egypt, the Egyptian presidency said in a statement.
The Egyptian president also stressed the importance of uniting the international community's efforts to eradicate terrorism and cut financial support and arms supplies to terror groups.
