Jordan’s King Abdullah on Sunday (August 19th) met with community leaders and representatives from the northern, central and southern Badia regions, the Jordan Times reported.
Abdullah "paid tribute to the martyrs who gave their lives to defend Jordan, and highlighted the importance of safeguarding the welfare and well-being of their families", a Royal Court statement said.
The king voiced pride in the alertness of Jordanians in the face of extremism, expressing confidence in the ability of the armed forces and security agencies to counter terrorism and safeguard Jordan against internal and external threats.
Interior Minister Samir Mubaidin stressed the role of Badia residents, alongside all Jordanians, in building Jordan and preserving its security and stability.
A number of dignitaries and tribal figures spoke on behalf of their communities, voicing pride in Abdullah’s leadership and in the competence of the security forces in defending the homeland and protecting its properties and citizens.
