Jordan’s eastern military command, in co-ordination with the Anti-Narcotics Department and the Military Security Department on Wednesday (June 20th) foiled an attempt to smuggle a large amount of drugs into the kingdom from Syria, the Jordanian news agency, Petra, reported.
A military source said the rules of engagement were applied after Border Guards spotted a number of persons who were trying to infiltrate the border, and forced them to retreat into Syria.
After searching the area, a number of bags containing more than a million Captagon pills and a firearm were seized and referred to the concerned authorities, the source said.
