The conflict in Yemen has killed nearly 7,700 people, including at least 1,564 children, over the past two years, UN agencies said Monday (March 13th).

UNICEF said that by March 10th, at least 1,546 children were killed and 2,450 others were maimed in Yemen, AFP reported.

Of those killed, 1,022 were boys and 478 were girls, while the gender of the remaining 46 was not accounted for, UNICEF said in a statement.

During that same period, 1,801 boys and 649 girls were wounded, while 1,572 boys were recruited to serve as child soldiers , UNICEF said.

Meanwhile, dozens of women staged a sit-in outside the UN's Yemen offices on Tuesday to demand an end to the war.

The sit-in is expected to span three days, according to organisers.

Protestors were seen erecting makeshift tents on Tuesday afternoon as they prepared to spend their first night outside the UN's Sanaa offices.

Saudi Arabia won’t leave the people in Arab Yemen and the Arab south alone to face the Iranian, Persian enemy. Saudi Arabia, including leaders, government and people, stand side by side with millions of Arab lions in the Arab Yemen and Arab south. The great Arab coalition is assuming a great responsibility in the face of the Iranian regime and its expansionist ambitions. The regime that doesn’t respect is people won’t respect anyone. The liberation of Saada, Sanaa, Taiz, and al-Hodeidah, especially al-Hodeidah, from the gangs of the pro-Iran al-Houthi and the gangs of the ousted al-Sanhani, al-Qaeda and ISIL is a great popular demand.
