A Lebanese army helicopter on Wednesday (August 10th) destroyed a position of the group formerly known as al-Nusra Front (ANF) on the outskirts of the northeastern border town of Arsal, Lebanese media reported.
An army chopper launched the evening raid, firing three rockets at a position of the group, which recently changed its name to Fateh al-Sham Front, and completely destroying it, the National News Agency (NNA) said.
The army continued to shell extremist positions and gunmen near Arsal and Ras Baalbek on Thursday, the agency said.
ISIL and ANF fighters are entrenched in rugged areas along the Lebanese-Syrian border, and the army regularly shells their posts.
