Jordan appoints ambassador to Qatar after 2 years of reduced representation

A royal decree has been issued approving a Jordanian cabinet decision to appoint Zaid Lozi as Jordan’s ambassador to Qatar, the Jordan Times reported Wednesday (July 17th).

Prior to the appointment, Lozi held the position of secretary-general at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates.

The appointment follows a two-year period of reduced diplomatic representation, and is a sign of improved relations between the two countries.

Last year, Qatar pledged to offer 10,000 jobs to Jordanians in Doha and to provide $500 million in investment projects to support the kingdom’s infrastructure and development projects.
