The commander of US Air Force Central Command Lt. Gen. Joseph Guastella met with Commander of the Lebanese Armed Forces Gen. Joseph Aoun, as well as key leaders in the Lebanese Air Force on Monday and Tuesday (May 28th), Lebanon’s Naharnet reported.
During his visits to the Hamat and Beirut air bases, Guastella discussed "the many challenges faced by the Lebanese Armed Forces Air Force and reaffirmed the US government’s commitment to strengthening the Lebanese-American partnership and its support to the Lebanese Armed Forces in their capacity as the sole, legitimate defender of Lebanon", the US Embassy in Beirut said.
