Egypt condemns ISIS attack on Libyan foreign ministry

Egypt on Tuesday (December 25th) condemned in "the strongest terms" a terror attack on the Libyan foreign ministry in Tripoli, which killed at least three ministry employees and injured others, Egypt’s Ahram Online reported.

In an official statement, Egypt's foreign ministry reiterated the importance of mobilising international support for UN efforts to achieve peace and security in Libya, and stressed Egypt's support for Libya in its battle against terror groups.

Earlier Tuesday, three men attacked Libya’s foreign ministry in Tripoli using a car bomb. Two blew themselves up, and the third was killed by ministry guards.

At least three people were killed and 21 wounded in the attack, according to the health ministry.

The "Islamic State of Iraq and Syria” (ISIS) claimed responsibility for the attack.
