Jordan confiscates 350,000 pills after smuggling busts

Jordanian Anti-Narcotics Department (AND) personnel foiled two separate attempts to smuggle a total of 350,000 pills, Public Security Department spokesman Col. Amer Sartawi said Sunday (December 2nd).

In the first attempt, three suspects were arrested while trying to transport 300,000 pills outside the kingdom in a truck, Sartawi told the Jordanian news agency, Petra.

Sartawi said the search was ongoing for three other suspects in the case.

The second case involved a man who tried to smuggle 50,000 pills through the post, he added.

AND personnel arrested the man, who had hidden the pills inside iron tubes in a package.
