Jordanians march in solidarity against child marriage

Dozens of Jordanians gathered at Amman’s Sports City on Saturday (September 29th) to march together in protest against child marriage, the Jordan Times reported Monday.

The walk, organised by the Tadamon Centre, sought to support the national efforts to prevent child marriage, while simultaneously encouraging healthy activities such as walking.

The walk is part of a new initiative by the centre to march each month for a different cause that is considered a pressing social issue in Jordan.

Children were encouraged to participate, and parents brought their children along, giving them signs that read, "Do not marry me off young".
