Jordan is a strategic ally in the war on extremism and in combating terrorist organisations, Interior Minister in the caretaker government Samir Mubaidin said Monday (June 11th).
The kingdom has suffered from acts of terrorism and has offered sacrifices in the battle against it, Mubaidin said during a meeting with Under-Secretary General of the UN Office of Counterterrorism, Vladimir Voronkov.
The two discussed means to enhance co-operation between Jordan and the UN agency in the fields of counter-terrorism and anti-extremism, the Jordanian news agency, Petra, reported.
Mubaidin said the ideological aspect of the war against terrorism is the most important and dangerous, as uprooting extremist ideology takes time.
Voronkov highlighted the importance of boosting effective co-ordination between Jordan and the UN body to limit the spread of crime and combat extremism and terrorism.
