Jordan police foil drug smuggling attempt

Jordanian Anti-Narcotics Department crews foiled an attempt to smuggle 200,000 narcotic pills and nabbed five drug dealers, the Jordanian news agency, Petra, reported Sunday (February 4th).

The pills were hidden in a vehicle compartment and prepared for trafficking for another country.

The shipment was confiscated and the suspects taken into custody, according to a Public Security Directorate statement.

After collecting intensive intelligence on the operation, the investigation team staged a raid in a suburb of Amman and caught the five suspects, after identifying their vehicle, the statement said.

The confiscated drugs have been identified as Captagon pills.
