Egypt kills ‘dangerous extremist’ in North Sinai

Egypt's military said Monday (February 5th) it had killed one dangerous extremist and arrested six other suspects during a raid in North Sinai, Egypt’s Ahram Online reported.

Armed forces spokesman Tamer al-Refaie said two warehouses had been discovered containing improvised explosive devices (IEDs), along with two four-wheel drive vehicles and six motorcycles used by extremists.

Personnel from the 2nd Field Army also destroyed locations the extremists had used as hideouts and for storing ammunition, communications equipment and substances used to manufacture IEDs, he said.
