Egyptian police killed six extremists in a shootout during a raid on their hideout in North Sinai, Egypt’s Ahram Online reported Tuesday (January 23rd).
Security forces tracked a group of terrorists who had plotted to increase attacks against security forces, the interior ministry said in a statement.
Police forces then raided their hideout, which had been used as a base for staging attacks in the provincial capital of al-Arish, the ministry added.
Six terrorists were killed as security forces exchanged fire with militants.
