Lebanon's Military Court on Saturday (January 6th) sentenced extremist militant Ahmed Ammoun to life in prison with hard labour, Lebanon’s National News Agency reported.
Arsal native Ammoun, also known as "Al-Sheikh", was convicted of a host of charges.
These included rigging cars with explosives and blowing them up in several areas, including Beirut’s southern suburbs, participating in attacks on army posts in Arsal in 2014, killing civilians and security personnel, and plotting to send bomb-laden cars into Lebanon.
