Egypt, Jordan forces start joint military exercise

Egyptian and Jordanian armed forces have commenced a joint military exercise, dubbed "Aqaba 3", which is set to run for several days in Egypt, Egypt’s Ahram Online reported Tuesday (November 14th).

The exercise will include drills by land forces from the southern military area, the southern fleet, commandos, paratroopers, the air force, and special navy units.

The exercise involves an exchange of expertise between the two militaries as well as maintaining readiness to plan, co-ordinate and conduct joint missions in the face of unusual threats and other challenges.

In recent months, Egypt has conducted military exercises with a number of countries including Greece, Russia, the US, Saudi Arabia and Kuwait.
