US accuses Iran of supplying missiles to Yemen

The US on Tuesday (November 7th) accused Iran of supplying a missile to Yemeni opposition fighters that was fired into Saudi Arabia in July 2017 and called for an international response, AFP reported.

US Ambassador Nikki Haley said Riyadh had released information showing that the missile was an Iranian Qiam and that this weapon was not present in Yemen before the conflict.

"By providing these types of weapons to the Houthi militias in Yemen, Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corp‎s (IRGC) is violating two UN resolutions simultaneously," Haley said in a statement.

"We encourage the United Nations and international partners to take necessary action to hold the Iranian regime accountable for these violations," she said.

The accusations came amid heightened tensions after the Houthis (Ansarallah) fired a missile that was intercepted near Riyadh on Saturday evening.

That missile may also be of Iranian origin, Haley said.

The US "will not turn a blind eye to these serious violations of international law by the Iranian regime", she said.

In your opinion, do you really think the United States is worried about the people of Saudi Arabia? Why aren't the Palestinian people, who are under attack by the U.S. made missiles, as important?
