Three suspected members of al-Qaeda, including one of the group’s leaders, were killed in an airstrike in the southern Yemen province of Abyan, AFP reported Friday (October 20th).
According to local officials, the strike was carried out late Thursday in the Sumaa area of the province, with the leader's body left "incinerated" and his two bodyguards also killed.
A similar strike on Sunday in Marib province killed five suspected al-Qaeda militants.
