Jordan renews support for Iraq stability, unity

Jordan's King Abdullah on Tuesday (October 3rd) renewed his country's support for Iraq in "its efforts to maintain its security, stability, integrity of its lands and unity of its population", The Jordan Times reported Wednesday.

In a phone conversation with Iraqi PM Haider Al Abbadi, King Abdullah reasserted Jordan’s backing of Iraq's counter-terror campaign and efforts to launch an inclusive political process that engages all sides, "in a way that contributes to building a secure and stable Iraq".

Meanwhile, government spokesman and state minister for media affairs Mohammad Momani on Tuesday said that Iraq's security and unity are paramount for the region’s stability.

He said that Jordan supports Iraq in its war against terrorism, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.

He also praised Iraq’s victory against the "Islamic State of Iraq and Syria" (ISIS), describing it as a victory for the region and the world.
