Hariri assumes duties as Lebanon's Prime Minister

Lebanon's Prime Minister Saad Hariri assumed his duties at the Grand Serail on Tuesday (December 20th), two days after a new cabinet was lined up, Lebanon's Naharnet reported.

Hariri arrived at noon at the Grand Serail in downtown Beirut and was welcomed by cabinet secretary-general Fouad Fleifel, and senior government staff.

The new prime minister is expected to attend his first meeting with the newly formed cabinet later Tuesday, which will be chaired by President Michel Aoun at Baabda Palace, Lebanon's Daily Star reported.

The first item on the cabinet's agenda is to form a ministerial committee to draft the government's policy statement.
